Hi, I checked all the courier services and Canada post but none of them can deliver before June 11, from where I live in Northern Alberta. So I am taking a flight a Nova Scotia but I was just wondering if I can deliver my application in person or do I have to courier it from there? Does any one know?

CiC will not accept applications delivered in person. They will only accept official form of delivery. Such as post and/or courier service.

You can try to fly to sydney tonight and mail it tomorrow for same day/next day delivery. The application will make it on time to CIC on June 10th.

as far as I know...you can deliver it in person. Good luck
I like to know where you got this information from.

There is nowhere on any website that says CIC will accept applications in person. All official websites all say that it must be mailed by post or by courier.

You can mislead the OP into thinking he/she can deliver it in person. But that is completely false.

How are you so sure?
Because people here have tried (after they were told they couldn't do it) - and discovered that it is in fact impossible.

Drive to Edmonton, go to any FEDEX location. FEDEX FIRST OVERNIGHT will get your application delivered by 10am next day.

I checked with Fedex they say its gonna take an extra day to take it to Sydney no matter where ever I send it from. So if I send it from Edmonton tomorrow it will reach Sydney on 11th. That is why I have decided to fly to Halifax and may be drive from there to Sydney if they take the application in person otherwise I will courier it from Halifax.

You can courier it from Halifax or even Sydney as I am sure there are FedEx offices there.

No one will go the extreme method you are going to do unless they are desperate. Sorry, are you that desperate for it?

It is almost as though our citizenship are up for sale, people willing to spend a fortune just so they can get their application in on the 3/4 rule.

I totally agree here. I cannot comment on personal circumstances, but flying to halifax just to get the application in seems awfully desperate, especially from Northern Alberta...if the true intention is to "live" in Canada, a year should not make any difference; life should go on as normal. To each his own, I guess.

Screech is right you can't deliver in person and he also gave you the best option.

It is very important to be part of the slow April-June cluster, because half of these people will take the Oath with those who will apply under the new rules.

I don't understand that desperation to apply under the old rules in the slow April June batch full of high volume of applications and high volume of problematic applications full with mistakes and applying only with basic residence while at the same time the people can apply under the new fast system and obtain their citizenship for approx. the same time like those who are rushing now.

For some, up to 2 years longer. Those that want to claim 2 years of Pre-PR days towards citizenship have to wait another 2 years to qualify if they missed the deadline.
