Can we bring student dependent in Canada?

I am new to this forum, i want to know that can we bring our spouse or dependent in Canada? I can't find any helpful information on CIC.

Where r u from.. are u currently in Canada or in your home country. Theoretically, they are allowed, Practically, it's not recommended. VO usually don't grant visa's. They put a huge mark on Home-Ties.. Do you have other home-ties available if you are taking them with you..??
