Hey all,

My husband lives with me here in Toronto Canada and we are just wrapping everything up to send out our file.

We are going to apply inland and I heard from someone that we can send it to the Buffalo office because it will get done faster. My husband is not from the USA and neither am I. Is this true? Does that mean that the sponsorship becomes approved in Mississauga and then goes to Buffalo?

Only if your husband was ADMITTED to Canada for 1 year can he select Buffalo as the processing office, otherwise it is the office responsible for his usual country of residence/citizenship.

The point being that he does not have to apply using the inland PR process just because he's in Canada with you. However, there are a few very important considerations when making the inland vs outland decision. If you PM me with more of the details, I can help you figure out whether it's best for your husband to continue with an inland ap, whether Buffalo is an option, and what complications you might face with an outland ap (whether it be Buffalo or the embassy that represents his country of birth/citizenship).
