Can we apply for an Open Work Permit?

Hi everyone,
My bf just received an extension on his temporary resident record (we were fortunate enought to get a year in order to accomodate the processing time for our PR application).

Anyways, I was wondering if it's possible for him to apply for an open work permit?

Have you applied inland or outland for PR?

If you have applied inland then you will have to wait until the application receives first stage approval (this will take around six months). Once the file has first stage approval then he will qualify to apply for an open work permit.

If you applied outland, then unfortunately he doesn't qualify for an open work permit.
