Can we apply 2nd closed work permit when one is already in process

Hi Guys,
I am working for a Canadian firm since last 2.5 years remotely from India and now they have applied for my closed work permit to get me in Canada. So my work permit is in process and it was applied 3 weeks ago.

I have got a new job offer from Canada and they are ready to sponsor and want to apply closed work permit for me. I want to get in the new job because my current employer is startup and it may get shut anytime.

Now I am in a dilemma whether I can apply for the new closed work permit for new employer when one is already in progress. or I will have to with draw the IN process one ? and if i withdraw will it impact the new one if i apply in that way ?

Do you have an approved LMIA with the new job offer from the employer?

@Naturgrl Yes, new employer has applied for it and they will get it in 10-12 days.

If you have an approved LMIA, yes.

Why would your current employer be notified?

@Naturgrl I thought if new employer apply then it may impact the existing one and if my current one have some problem and get refused they may get notified with the reason like duplicate or something.

I am new so I don't have clear picture.

Do not see why the first employer would be contacted.

Do i need to withdraw the IN progress work permit which was applied by my current employer in end of July ? Or i can leave the existing one as it is and tell new employer to go ahead with filing the new work permit.

Ask your consultant but better to withdraw rather than have two being processed at the same time.
