Can the French embassy cancel my US visitor visa?

First of all, I apologize! I know that this is not a place to discuss about US visas but this website has helped me a lot to understand Canadian immigration laws so I thought it will be a good place to ask such a question.

I'm applying for a French student visa soon in India and since I'm unemployed at this point in time,I wanted to continue my education in France so I can get better opportunities here when I come back. I do however have a B1/B2 visa valid for ten years issued outside of India.

Although I haven't used it in a long time and neither do I plan to use it again soon, I would like to know if the French embassy can cancel my US visitor visa or pass my information to the US embassy for visa cancellation in case I don't qualify for the French student visa itself. I know that when you're unemployed, you don't qualify for a B2 visa until you're employed back again. Am I overthinking it ? I would appreciate anyone's advise on this.

Thanks in advance!

Hi,

Not sure if it is legally feasible for a country to cancel a visa issued by another country. How can France cancel a US issued visa?

Never seen such a case.

Thanks,

Thanks for the reply. I'm less worried about them physically cancelling the visa but more about them sending information to the US embassy that I'm unemployed! Obviously I won't travel to the US when I'm unemployed but I still don't want my visa to be cancelled.

No, the French embassy cannot cancel your US B1/B2 visa.

Only the US embassy can cancel or revoke a US B1/B2 visa. An appeal is simply not possible should this happen.

Typical scenarios under which a US B1/B2 visa can be cancelled are if the visa holder has a pending family immigration petition, or the person is working in the US while on a B1/B2 instead of visiting, or has provided false statements/false documents for the US B1/B2 visa, or is a security risk

Hey Bryanna! Thanks for replying back! I'm not worried about them cancelling the visa themselves but rather about them passing the information that I'm unemployed to the US embassy. Is that a possibility? I would appreciate your reply.

I think you are overthinking things on how much time governments have to waste on something which in reality in the scheme of things is trivial to both the French and US governments.

Now if you had been placed on a watch list or an Interpol list then maybe yes info would be exchanged but employed or not doubtful given one day not employed the next employed .
