Can SuperVisa Extended?

Hello,
If your mother is here for 2 years on supervisa, does she have to go back home and stay for 6 months before she can come again?
OR
Can we request for extension of supervisa for another 2 years while she is in Canada.
Note that she does have SuperVisa for 10 years
