Can someone give me a list of really great immigration lawyers in Canada?
If it is possible an immigration lawyer who doesn't charge so much and who is really effective.

Thank you :)

Not sure such a thing exists...

What you need to remember with an immigration lawyer is that he/she cannot determine your case nor can he/she make an application any better than it would have been. I'm not against lawyers for obvious reasons but when you are making an application (and unless it is complex) you could be better off submitting your own layman version. I can see from your earlier posts that one of your issues is residency but I think you are worrying too much. Advice has been given which is useful regarding addresses to use.

Although that said, perhaps try www.csic-scci.ca first. If no-one there can help you then if you think it's better for you, try a lawyer.

Good luck whichever you choose!

Thank you for your answer, but this is a forum where you come to ask questions and I am sure sarcastic responses are not expected. I don't ask to be judged and I think it is extremely disrespectful that you call me in some way "exaggerated" and "paranoid".
It seems like now every time I ask for advice I get someone making a quick smart remark instead of a straight answer. Anyway, who ever would truly like to help I thank you, but if you post with the intent to insult people in front of others then DON'T ANSWER!
I really don't care if I have -4 or -5 etc. I am here as an adult trying to start my residency process and not to play baby games.

Thank you.

No way did anyone call you paranoid, in fact the response was an extremely good positive one. The person was just stressing that you appeared not to have much to worry about with your application.

No one was judging you, the response was a good one. Most on this forum do not have knowledge of immigration lawyers and most of us have only ever heard of bad lawyers to be honest. I know I have for certain.

The obvious route is to use David Cohan, whom operates this free forum. I doubt any immigration lawyer is more experienced than him or his firm. So approach them first if you really feel you need help in your application.

Thanks for clearing that up for me. :)

OK, well I am just asking questions that is all and I know I have been asking similar question but for some reason I get responses like this recent one that "I worry to much". I am just asking straight forward questions. I am not here to fight or loose points. I am here to talk. I always appreciate when some one answers, as long as it is simple and straightforward. Anyway, I am not here for arguments so I will end this answer.

Thank you

Normally I do not respond when someone clearly wants to argue however, I have not said that you exaggerated or are paranoid, merely that IMO you are worrying too much about which address to use. I am very aware of how to use this forum of which I have been a member of (as well as others) for quite some time. My point (if you bothered to read any earlier posts) is that we ALL worry too much when beginning this process but when you get to the end you will see how relatively simple it was - even I thought this.

My comment on lawyers is valid and allowable, I can comment on my peers whether in jest or in reality and as you will see from the link, I provided you with a somewhat cheaper and hopefully more beneficial source of initial enquiry.

I do not insult people; if you actually read the post and digested it before transferring your anger and frustration to an anonymous individual, you would have seen that I was trying to be helpful. It is responses like this which make some people who know both the process and the law simply not bother to give FREE advice.

All that said, STILL I wish you good luck.

I know when I am wrong, and I want to applogize for my attitude :). I see that you are a decent and understanding person from the way you have answered. I am really frustrated with this whole process. I know that everything will be alright eventually lol!
I am like this normally and I hope you do accept my honest apology.

Thank you Whoopi83

No drama Carlo - honestly, check out the consultants first if you're not confident putting everything together. It took us months to assemble everything and re-check but it will be ok. :)

You are truly a good person and my judgement was really wrong. I have no excuse for my answer, but I hope to be able to have your help in the future. I know it will be fine. I have such a great relationship with my wife and kid and all I want is to have a better life for them as soon as possible. I want my son to be able to be happy and safe. I want him to have the life I had in my wonderful country that is Canada!

Thank you so much for the good luck and for accepting my apology :D

From what you have posted so far, your case seems fairly straight-forward. Why is it you think you need an immigration lawyer? Perhaps an immigration consultant is all you need, and they usually cost about $2500, which is less than half of what a lawyer would charge for a basic spousal sponsorship.

Check out the link above for consultants. Make sure to check references and ensure that they are a registered consultant.

Good luck!

Excuse my ignorance, but what is the difference between the work that an immigration consultant vs an immigration lawyer?
