I need help.
I have a question on family class spousal sponsorship.
Quebec processing time for PR is 35 months while outside Quebec is 11 months.

In a situation where the Sponsor is a Canadian citizen and a resident of Quebec, can Principal applicant choose to live outside Quebec (Ontario) and put it on the application form even though the husband who is the sponsor is a resident of Quebec?

In the IRCC website they asked a question, “where will you be living?” Can the principal applicant put Outside Quebec?

I suppose you can however if the sponsor is living in Quebec then to the best of my knowledge it will still be treated as a Quebec application. So CSQ and Quebec processing times will apply based on what I know. Wait for others to comment.

Kindly share your opinions guys

I think they will impose the CSQ requirement on the sponsor as living in Quebec, and at any rate subject to what is effectively a Quebec-controlled quota. But it's only my guess/opinion.

Unfortunately we've had few reports from applicants/sponsors who've tried to re-domicile to Ontario (during or just prior to applying). I think those sponsors who move before shouldn't have any issue as long as they've clearly moved.

I agree with you. The only clean / guaranteed option is for the sponsor to move out of Quebec before submitting the application. Otherwise IRCC will be expecting a CRQ and will almost certainly treat as a Quebec application from a processing time standpoint.

Also agree with what you've said about the redomiciles. There have been very few that have reported back on results. From the few I've seen, some were successful but others still seemed to be stuck under the Quebec processing times. It looks like a dice roll to me.

Are you being sponsor as a spouse? If so, IRCC will question if the sponsorship is a valid move for a spouse to reunited with the sponsor and live apart.

If it's other type of sponsorship, (e.g. dependent) then it may make sense for a young adult to want to live in a different province.
