Can PR be renewed multiple times if not applied for Citizenship?

my kid was born in USA and has USA Citizenship. We migrated to Canada couple of years back and planing to apply for Citizenship for me and spouse.

What if we don't apply for Citizenship of kid, and would it be possible to renew PR for kid once we are Citizen of Canada? Is there any limit of renewing PR of Canada?

has any one faced similar situation? any thoughts?

Yes, u could renew PR for ever. Check Michael Steer living in Canada since1964, 80 yr old now finds the oath as a symbol of monarchy which he opposes, being Irish... He has been challenging it in the courts and never been a citizen, so he has been renewing his PR, I would assume.

...but then on second thoughts, ur kid could have both US and Canadian citizenship no problems with dual citizenship there...
