If I have one year post-doctoral researcher experience, can I use that experience to apply provided the main duty qualify one of the categories? Or only professional experience in the companies count?

Should the post-doctoral researcher only use NOC 4011 University professors and lecturers?
Or it can be used according to its duties, e.g., Biologist, mechanical engineer, etc.?
