Can parents stay upto 6 months in Canada with TRV?

My parents have got their TRV recently and are planning to visit us in a couple of months, the question I have is, can they arrive with a return ticket that's after 5 months? I.e., can they stay for like upto 6 months the first time they arrive, r would it cause any issues.

Note - When I applied for a visa the original plan was having them for 3 months, but with the baby, it will be helpful if they are here for 6 months. Appreciate your responses.

1. They cannot legally care for the baby in Canada. That is considered work, and is a violation of their visitor's visa.

2. They may be admitted for up to six months. However, if the CBSA officer at the border decides to only admit them for three weeks, they have to leave within three weeks.
