Seniors...

Kindly advice.....

My father wants to apply for a visitor visa and might visit canada 2-3 months after I land.

So my questions are...

1. can he apply for a visior visa once I land there?

2. I will only get my PR card after few months post landing. Can I send copies of COPR and my passport along with the invitation from me?

3. Can he apply now on the basis of my current documents?

Looking forward for your kind support.

Cheers,

Air :)

Parents cannot accompany with the principal applicant. If you are not yet a PR, you cannot make an invitation to your father for his visitor visa. After your landing in Canada you will become a PR and then of course, you can send him an invitation together with the other required documents. Whereas for applying for his Super visa there are other conditions and requirements. Please read the guide for details:

Hi Wilson...

Thanks a lot for the above info..

Request you one more clarification:

As u said above, I can send an invite to my father post landing (before getting PR card), do I need to get a job before sending the invitation.

Can he show his funds instead of me sponsoring him and I can send the invite only.

Thanks...

If he can prove enough funds for his living and other expenses including temporary medical insurance, that would be acceptable by the Canadian embassy. You can send a formal invitation with copies other documents except the financial support. Your landing document will be enough instead of PR Card. Review the guide for complete requirements from both side.
