My job offer has the start date December 1st, 2023 and the job is for one year. I have received my letter of introduction now which states in the box: "letter of introduction validity: 2024/12/01" (it also states that my eTA " is valid for multiple visits to Canada" until 2027 due to my passport expiration date). I assume that technically I have from now until December 1, 2024 to enter Canada and conduct the interview. The question is: If I negotiate a later start date with my employer for whatever reason, could it happen that at the border they will give me a permit only until December 01, 2024 or do they generally understand that the start date was only shifted and the employment is still planned for one year?
