Hello,

I have my bachelors degree and I just got my admission for my masters program in Canada. I want to apply for my study visa and my mother is the one sponsoring my education because I graduated a year ago and I don't have the money to pay for my tuition. I know of my friends that their parents sponsored as well and they got their study visa but my case is that I am married and I don't know if that would be an issue. I am 22 years old and will turn 23 by end of the month. I got married last year February. Can my mother still show their account as proof of funds for me? Thanks for reading. I would appreciate any reply.

If you are married and over 22 then you really need to show that you can fund your own education so you want most of your funds from your own personal accounts.

No harm in trying to submit your application. I know of people who are already married in their 30s who applied for a student visa and were sponsored by parents and other relatives, and still got approved. Aside from showing their accounts as proof of funds, I suggest that your parents will also issue an affidavit of sponsorship duly notarized by a lawyer.
