Hello everyone, I'm a canadian citizen..i was born in ottawa, but when i was 2 yrs old, my parents moved to italy (My mom is italian). My father is also canadian, he met my mom here in canada, she was here with a student visa. After they got married, she lived and work here for 7 years but she never applied for her cictizenship, while she was in Canada.
My parents are now separeted, my father has come back to canada 10 years ago, while i leave in italy with my mom, and come visiting every summer.
Is there any possibilities that my mom can somehow apply for her citizenship now?

No. To apply for citizenship, you must be a permanent resident and you must have lived in Canada for 3 out of the past 4 years. She may have had permanent residency in Canada back when but living outside Canada for so many years, she would have lost it. If she wants to go to Canada, she would have to immigrate. If you are over 18 and you move to Canada and you are making enough money to support yourself and your mother, you could sponsor her for a super visa which would allow her to stay in Canada as a visitor for up to 2 years. The program to sponsor parents for permanent residency is currently closed but if they open it again, you could sponsor her for PR in which case she would have the right to live and work in Canada.
