I've read and reread the information so many times, but still can't figure this out. My dad was born in Canada in 1944 to Canadian parents (they were all Canadians). I was born in the U.S. and recently received my Certificate of Canadian Citizenship, on which it says that my "effective date of citizenship" is my birthdate in April 1968. So I have been a citizen since I was born (due to having a Canadian dad), but I just received the documentation.
I'd like to get my kids Canadian citizenship (like me, they were born in the U.S.), but I'm unclear if they are eligible. Any ideas? Also, my daughter was born five weeks after the April 17, 2009 change -- May 26. She just missed it! So I'm hoping she will qualify anyway or that will sting even more. Thanks!
