Hello to everybody on the forum and thanks for giving so much valuable information when people need it) I really need your advice and opinion from aside!
We married two and a half years ago and it was a lovely time together...He signed the three years sponsorship as well. But since I landed in Canada a year ago(so I have a PR) everything changed-he became different, started treating me very low, call me names, going out with friends and coming back home late...still hard to believe...My husband is Canadian and I am from Belarus...his friends never liked me and I think advised lots of things to him so that he started sending me to my home country, telling me that he is sick and tired of me...it hurts a lot to know that the "one"doesnt love you anymore...
I started working in a day care here and really loved it,found friends and hobbies)))but feeling lonely all the time I decided to visit my mom and dad-so now for more that three weeks I have been with my family! He is calling quite often and being surprisingly caring-for me its too good to be true...he doesnt sound real and I suspect that he is doing smth.behind my back.
-What is your opinion?
-Can he possibly arrange smth.with immigration officers that they dont let me back to Canada?
-Can they deport me?
-May he divorce me without me being present?
-Can he sell the house we lived in without my signature?
Thank you so much in advance for all your attention and coming help)))

Sorry to hear of your situation.

He can't do anything in regards to your PR and even if he files for divorce it will have no effect on your status. If your name is also on the title of the home he can't sell it without you.

When you return to Canada as painful as it maybe figure out your legal options, discuss your relationship and move forward wherever that may be. He is responsible for u for 3 years. Be strong. If he doesn't treat you right I wouldn't stay.

I believe that even without Gibraaltar's name on the lease, because it is a marital home the husband cannot legally the house without her signature.

However, to guard against the possibility that he forges her signature, I suggest you get back to Canada to protect your interests.

Maybe one of his good friends just reminded him that he is financially responsible for you for 3 years, which means if you are not working and you want to take him to court for a divorce then you get half his assets.

Are you sure of your advice? From what I know of divorce law, she would get half the communal assets (hers as well as his) that accumulated during the marriage, which could be less than "half his assets".

In Canada, it is also possible for wives to get alimony if they make less money than the husband. I do not know the law but I was working with a guy who had to pay his wife alimony even though the children, 2 teenagers, were living with him.

Thanks guys a lot for your quick answer)It disturbed me so much...feel a bit released now :)
Kel Ke,l you are right I should think about the future and move on in life but its so hard...still think that he will change but at the same time I lost my trust in him and when there is no believe there is no family...
Toby I know what you are saying that I should go back asap to protect my interests and I will follow your advice)))The only thing I dont even feel like getting into it as its a big stress but I cant escape it I know...
New tone, its so true about "his good friends" and none of them married so thats another reason)))
Leon,I ve heard about alimony and how sometimes its unfair for the men in Canada(paying for smd's children till they are 18!) but I dont think if we are divorced there will be smth.for me there as he knows how to hide income and other things...so that I try not to think of support from him-its easier to rely on yourself only)))The only thing I wanted to learn from this forum that I can come back to Canada with no fear to be deported(!) I ve met so nice and amazingly friendly people in Canada! Thanks a lot one more time-now I can sleep better))))))))
