Hi to everyone,
I would like to find out, if my child who is 9 years old travel alone to complete the formalities. We are in different countries and i would like to go first and then will wait to pick her up.

So my question is, can they airlines accept her to travel alone?

Please help me out?

Thanks and i am waiting.?

Did you bother checking with the airlines to see if they will carry unaccompanied minors?

Though she can, and most a/lines would arrange for a ground escort to assist her with immigration/baggage/sundries as well, but u need to be a real braveheart to let ur baby travel alone. I couldn't... and would rather fly & fetch her myself under whatever odds.

Hello,

Yes your 9 year old child can travel alone but like other members have said you have to check with the airline to see if they do it and how it works. But let me tell you and it's just because i am a parent myself and because i use to travel as a child alone with my little brother to visit our grand parents , i did when i was 10, 12 , 15 . Trust me you don't want to leave your child in the care of other people ,even more in the times we are living now . I don't remember how many times me and my brother could have run off , from this lady who by the way pinch my little brother who was 8 at the time out of frustration.Seriously now that i'm a parent myself i don't know what my parents were thinking ! You just don't know what kind of person your kid will be assign too , do you really want to take that chance ? With all the scary stories on the news about children? You should really think about it .

Well, i have gotten the flights around the dates i wanted., which was a problem , before i started thinking this last option.
So i will go to fetch her myself.

Thanks for the advance.

Not all airlines accept unaccompanied kids. I sent my 11 years old kid last year by jet airways and they charged the full fare of an adult and I handed over the kid to airlines staff, they gave him a bag to be put around his waist, which had a note " young passenger ", the ground staff of the airline after the closing of booking counter took my kid to the plane and handed over the kid to airhostess and at the destination my father was handed over the kid and same way the kid retured back to Canada. At the time of booking the flight the airlines gave a form in which i had to enter details of who will receive the kid at the airport and what ID would be used and its number also.
I tell you, my kid had fun and was again asking me to send him again alone. The airlines staff took care of him very well.

I am so glad to read that you will be able to travel with your child. We can all sleep more soundly tonight. Good luck in your new home.

Is this dependent immigrant sponsorship?
