Can Migrant workers apply?

I know it says that to apply in this class, you must have 2 years legal canadian experience...

If a Farm worker from the carribean has been comming here for 6 years..each year being here on a Work permit for 8 months. (So 2 non concecutive years)

They have friends and family here in Canada.

Can they apply under this class? :

Hi Janadian, unfortunately, 2 years is not the only requirement. The work has to be classified as a "skilled" occupation, that is, skill level O, A, or B in the National Occupation Classification - here's the list of occupations and their NOC code that came up when I searched "farm worker" -

If the number starts with 84xx, then it is skill level C, not eligible. If on the other hand, the past 3 years your occupation was 82xx, a manager/supervisor, then it may be skill level B. I don't know how likely it is that a migrant worker would be in a supervisory position, tho...

Then the other issue is - the 2 years of employment must have been completed within the 3 years prior to application - so timing is everything, when you will be cutting it so close. In fact, they will measure it in weeks (104 full weeks), so it would have to be very precise....
