Can legally work after visa expires?

Hi,

My off campus work permit nd visa will be expired on 31st march. I hv applied for pgwp on 5th march and will hopefully recieve within 2 months, so my question is can i work legally in canada after 31st march till i get my pgwp or not??

As you have applied for the pgwp before the off-campus permit expires, you will have "implied status", which allows you to continue working under the same conditions until you receive the new permit. You can also continue to work with the expired SIN. Note that if you leave Canada during this time, you loose implied status. It may be helpful to provide a copy of this to your employer.
