Hello all

This is my first in 3 years of staying in Canada so help me guys. I am an international student currently studying but can't focus on my school anymore plus the tution fee is killing me. Also I want to get rich quickly(joke).

Seriously I want to ask if someone can search for full time work while studying and how can they change their status to Work from Studies without completing studies. If thats even possible?

Many thanks.

u need an employer who would process a LMIA and based on that LMIA u could apply for work permit. LMIA process is not an easy process for an employer u should read about work permits

All I can say is be careful with the decisions you make in life, especially those you make as an international student/temporary resident in Canada. Always remind yourself that you came to Canada for the sole purpose of studying which is the reason why you got a study permit and visa in the first place.

Secondly, CIC clearly states right here http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/study/work-offcampus.asp that you can only work 20hrs/week or full time (40hrs/week) during scheduled breaks. Scheduled breaks means long holidays (e.g Christmas holidays) or summer after a full academic year study session.

Working as a student while studying is work experience in Canada; NOT a way for you to make money to pay your tuition. Hence why before you are given a visa and study permit, you have to show proof of funds for your education and up keep.

Changing status from student to worker requires you to have graduated with an 8 months or more time (years) of education. You will have to show proof of it (e.g confirmation letter of graduation from your college/university, academic transcript).

LMIA is an option to depending on your situation.

I hope this helps.

Cheers!
