Hi, I applied for canadian citizinshipe and I was called for the interview next August, can I withdraw my papers inorder to apply with the whole family, as I want to give the oath with my family and not alone. Kindly if somebody can share with me his / her opinion? are there any consequences for the withdrawal?

I would suggest you just go for the interview and hopefully you get the citizenship yourself. don't wait for your family. your reason of withdraw may not sound good enough to the CIC. it will make you appear suspicious and have a hard time applying 2nd time.

Dear Leon and qorax,
Kindly I trust your opinion, what will happen if I withdraw my application for cetizinship after getting a notice for interview, and how can I do it in the proper way without compromizing my PR card. :-[

August is almost here. Why don't you mention your wish at the interview and see what they say?

Thanks Leon for your answer, but what if the officer got angry on me.

What are the consequences of no show to the interview?, or calling before the interview date and say : I want to withdraw my application for a short time period.

I think they are more likely to get angry if you don't show up. If you do not show up to the interview and do not call them and tell them why you could not come, they will probably cancel your application and you will have to apply again.

Thanks Leon, the reason why I need to withdraw my application is that I applied after three and a half years and not 4 years, while the regulations say that I should be in Canada for 1095 days during the last 4 years.

If it is only to close my file for application for citizinship and I have to apply later on again , I don't mind that, but what I am worried about is my PR card , which I don't want to lose. :'(

You don't have to wait 4 years if you already have 1095 days. If you have 1095 days after 3 years, you could even have applied after 3 years. You will not lose your PR card, even if you do apply too early for citizenship but it does not sound like you applied too early.
