Initially, IRCC issued my work permit, which is valid until October 2024, whereas I am eligible to work until October 2026 because I studied in Canada for two years. I contacted the IRCC's call center, and they suggested I apply for a new work permit via paper/mail and explain the mistake happened.
I submitted a new work permit application by paper/mail on January 12th. Received an update asking to pay the fees of 100 on April 1st and I paid it on the same day. I have no new updates on my application till now.
Currently, I have a PGWP that expires in October 2024, and my new PGWP application is still in process. If I do not receive my new PGWP by the time the current one expires, am I allowed to continue working? one of the conditions mentioned on the current work permit says: I must leave canada by Oct 2024. So, I am confused about what to do? Any advice please?
