Can I work in Montreal while on sabbatical leave (from Indian Employer)?

I have open work permit.
I am coming there with my spouse.
I am not quitting my current job(India) but opting Sabbatical(with Indian employer)
Can I work in Montreal while on sabbatical leave (from Indian Employer)?
Do Canadian employers need relieving letters from previous employers ?

Kindly help if any cons.

Hi,

My Spouse relocated to Canada with Closed Work permit from March. She is still in Maternity Leave with the previous employer and applied for resignation in april. Previous Employer accepted resignation and proposed LWD in June by considering the balance Vacation leave and Leave of Absence.
I am planning for applying PR.

I have few queries which i need advise,

1) Will there be any issues being in notice period with Employer in home country and also working in closed Work permit as there is overlap in the Work duration.

2) while applying for PR, In the personal History or the Work history , i have to provide previous Employer details and there is a overlap in Experience duration with current employment and previous employment. Will there be any issues because of this.

From 2014 i took one year sa batical leave for child care then i rejoin for one a d half year..again i took one year sabbatical...after this period i resign..will these be deducted from my experience for visa purpose
