Ok so my partner has sponsored me to move to Canada and he currently living in the UK with me i have sent off the documents and as far as i know there should not a problem with the application being approved (touch wood).

The problem is the application takes around 11 months which means i will hear around September 2013 however his visa to live in the Uk runs out in June 2013 and he is unable to extend it he is on a youth mobility visa.

So my question is, can i move to Canada while my application is being looked at. I don't necessary have to work there until my PR visa comes through i just don't want to have to be separated from my partner. I know i could go as a tourist for 6 months. However i am worried the immigration officer i deal with when i enter Canada may feel that i may not leave if my PR is rejected or that i may work illegally.

If not is there another short term visa i can get, I know the international experience Canada is virtually impossible to get. I am unsure on the rules on the temporary workers visa i have a degree in geography and have run my own business for two years. The problem is i am on a short time scale and am looking at the visa which takes the quickest amount of time to get which i am eligible for.

If this is not possible any advice on extending my partners visa for 4-6months would also be greatly appreciated

PLEASE HELP ME

You cannot "move" to Canada per se, and never tell the immigration officer you are doing that!

As you said, you can visit for 6 months, and you can apply to extend that. A VERY good idea is to make sure you have a return ticket with you, so the officer will be less likely to believe you are simply going to....not leave. When the time comes to extend, if you indicate that you are in the midst of the PR process, that usually helps with your extension approval as much (at least, it did for my wife and I).

Yes, you can visit Canada while your PR is being processed. But you cannot move to Canada! Do not say or imply that you are moving to Canada when you come beforehand.
When you arrive in Canada as a tourist, bring with you any proof of ties to the UK (such as a lease, mortgage, letter from your boss, bank account info, etc.), and a return ticket. Also bring proof of your PR application, such as the sponsorship approval letter, the fees receipt, a copy of the application. The fees receipt will probably be enough. Then you can say you want to visit your spouse in Canada while waiting for your PR visa. People from the USA do this all the time, and are ordinarily let in with no problem.

this is great advice. it also helps to not look like you are moving, so don't bring everything and the kitchen sink.
