Hi All,

I worked for about 5 months with a financial institution here in Canada as a 'Financial Service Representative' in there Customer Contact Centre (Call Centre) before getting a job in another company. I'm planning on combining the period of time i worked in the bank with my present job as 1 year under Canadian Experience Class by September before the Express Entry starts January 2015.

My major concern is that only 3 out of my duties as an FSR matches with NOC 6235.

My duties and responsibilities are as an FSR are as follows:

1. Provide accurate product information and advice while recognizing sales opportunities and pro-actively promoting, cross-selling, and/ or up-selling appropriate products and services.

2. Improve the company's revenue by expanding products and services of its clients.

3. Open new personal and non-personal account such as chequing, Savings, TFSA, RRSP, and provide access to telephone banking and online banking services.

4. Interview and identify applicants by phone to promote the sales of personal and student loans, mortgages, mortgage refinancing and secured and unsecured lines of credit.

5. Promote the sale of deposit accounts, investment, protection, credit and loan products and services.

6. Meet sales, customer service, and productivity targets by understanding client needs, offering first call resolution of issues, and actively promoting and selling products and services that meet clients' needs.

7. Fulfil customer expectations while complying with policies, practices and procedures. Identify and resolve customer complaints, using sound judgement and flexibility when recommending appropriate options and solutions

8. Offer a superior client experience on every call to meet and exceed client's expectations, build loyalty and grow the business.

I worked 37.5 hours per week and earned $37k per annum with other benefits while working.

Kindly, help me with any advice you might have or experience with something similar. Thanks

Make sure that your occupation does not fall under this NOC - NOC 6552 http://www5.hrsdc.gc.ca/noc/english/noc/2011/profilequicksearch.aspx?val=6&val1=6552
To confirm your NOC code please email the NOC Inquiry team noc-cnp @ workingincanada.gc.ca and they will be able to assist you.

Hi Hope1957, thank you for your response.

Below is the Response i got from: noc@workingincanada.gc.ca

The following is the response to your request for assistance

Based on the information that you have provided, the following National Occupational Classification (NOC) code may be appropriate for the occupation that you described. Please verify the link below to ensure that the education, main duties and employment requirements correspond to your occupation. You are in a better position to determine whether or not this NOC code reflects your job.

NOC code 6235 - Financial sales representatives:

or

NOC code 6552 Other customer and information services representatives (customer service representative – call centre):

In addition, please note that the final decision for selecting the most appropriate National Occupational Classification (NOC) code is each individual's responsibility as you know your education, skills and abilities better than anyone else. However, the ultimate decision remains the responsibility of Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC) as they are the only ones who have the authority to determine if the information provided meets their criteria.

Thank you

Hi All,

Just wondering if anyone has been in this similar situation.

After checking both NOC Codes, 6235 matches with my job duties than 6551.

Does anyone here think it will be better if i hire a lawyer in this situation?
