I am in Canada on visitor visa, currently waiting for a decision on my open work permit.

My question is: Can I travel while waiting for the decision on my work permit and can I get back to Canada?

I have a valid visitor visa but as I understand, once I get out of the country on a visitor visa, I cannot come back to Canada for 6 months at least.

If this is the case, what happens if they make a decision and ask to submit my passport in Canada but I already left Canada. Where would I get my work permit if it is approved?

I will only comment on fact that there is no hard rule about having 6 months between visits as a visitor. Entry into Canada is always at discretion of the CBSA officer based on the intentions of the person in front of them.

Yes, I understand that. But I assumed that I cannot just go home for a few days and come back in Canada on a tourist visa. Yes, I can tell them: "I am waiting for a decision on a work permit" but not sure if this is enough.

I don't want to travel all the way to Canada only to be denied entry.
