can i travel to US when i applying for visitor extension?

Hi,
my work permit expired on JAN 10,2015.

I'm go ing back to my country in end of Fed,
So I have applied for a extension visitor visa by online.
They received it on Dec 04,2014.
But I don't still get it for now.

I'm thinking to go to US just for travel for 3 or 4days before end of Feb.
Can i come back to Canada as a visitor?
I'm trying to call CIC but never answer...

1. As soon as you leave Canada, you visitor extension request is finished.
2. Whether you will be admitted to Canada on your return, is up to the CBSA officer at the border. Make sure you have proof of your travel leaving Canada for the end of February.
