Can I travel to another country on Open work permit?

Hi guys,

I recently got an approval from CIC for my open work permit application which I applied through Online. And have already dispatched my passport to embassy for the Visa stamping. I have been waiting to get my passport along with the visa stamped.

However I have few doubts...

1. Open work permit is allowed multiple entries or just single entry?
2. I am planing to visit Canada for 4 weeks in Mid-September due to my current job. But I will move to Canada in January 2019 . So wouldnt have any problem if I go through this way?
3. my wife student visa expires in August 2019, So I think I will get my visa with the same visa expiry date ?

1. Whether the TRV is single or multiple-entry depends on the VO. No one can tell you what it will be.

2. If the TRV is single-entry, you will need to apply for another one in order to return in Jan.

Thanks for your comments. Any idea OWP often comes with multiple or single entry? Believe me I used to think it only comes with multiple entry. Incase it would be a single entry, Can I travel in January 2019 instead of in mid-september 2018? I just want to know if there is some terms and condition like I have to be in Canada within a month of period!!

Can't say what the initial validity will be but you will likely be fine to enter Jan.

Anyway, I was trying to figure out about OPW's terms and condition but did not find any relevant stuffs(Got just basic requirements in Google).

I cant do anything now. just to wait to get my passport. Well, I will let you know as soon as I get my passport back with visa stamped. I wish I would be allowed to have multiple entries.

Why would CBSA "cancel your entry"? You can visit and then move.
