Can i travel back with H1B paper back to US after landing in Canada without visa

Hi,

Am I eligible to come back to the USA without valid USA Visa in Passport ,if I have a valid H1b Approval (I-797) or do I definitely need to get the new visa stamped in US Consulate in Canada before I travel back to the USA

Any Suggestion on this is much appreciated

Maybe a question for a US forum not a Canadian forum given is a US immigration question ? Personally I would have though the answer would be you need to contact the US consulate for an answer
