Can I travel after getting an extension of my TRV?

Hi all,

I'm American, and my husband is Canadian. We are working on our PR application (he's sponsoring me). In the meantime, I applied to extend my stay in Canada as a visitor.

Supposing I am granted the extension, am I then allowed to leave Canada and come back? I would like to visit my family and friends in the States.
Is the extension of my visitor visa a "multiple entry" visa?

An extension is only good as long as you remain in Canada. It does not allow you to leave and re-enter.

If you leave, when you re-enter - it will be treated as a brand new visit.
