Hi forum experts,

Wanted to know if I can take a PCC before getting an ITA (India) ?

OR

While applying for PCC I would require a letter / ITA Reference number or something

Also is there any rule for validity of PCC? Any travel restrictions ?

Situation 1 - Being Indian citizen, living in India, I obtain a PCC from India, and travel out of India after 10 days. Upon re entering India, Will the PCC be void? Do I have to ensure that I do not leave the country till the time I submit by ITA.

Situation 2 - Being Indian citizen, working in Saudi Arabia. (IQAMA - this make it having legal status in Saudi) and I travel to India often (say once a month) to meet family.

What all PCC will be required in this case for Indian living in Saudi and traveling to India .

A) will I require a PCC from India ?
If I do, I will have to be present in india to obtain it. Once I get this PCC, what if after 10 days I travel to Saudi for work ! Will this PCC be valid only for those 10 days and ideally I should not enter india till the time I submit my ITA.

B) will I require a PCC from Indian Embassy in Saudi Arabia for my stay as an Indian in Saudi?

C) I will be requiring a PCC from Saudi Government and I will have to follow the IRCC guidelines or approach them upfront.

I'm confused about the INDIAN PCC.
Can someone please provide me clarity on this matter!

Actually they do ask for ITA letter... I think I just gave them some EE letter. Or nomination letter from OINP

Usually PCC is valid for 6 months, unless stated otherwise (Not 1 year) There are exceptions to it - But I will not bore you with the details

Situation 1 - Being Indian citizen, living in India, I obtain a PCC from India, and travel out of India after 10 days. Upon re entering India, Will the PCC be void? Do I have to ensure that I do not leave the country till the time I submit by ITA.
No

PCC from both saudi and india is required

A) will I require a PCC from India ?
Yes. You can take it from Passport office in Saudi, or Indian embassy.
If I do, I will have to be present in india to obtain it. Once I get this PCC, what if after 10 days I travel to Saudi for work ! Will this PCC be valid only for those 10 days and ideally I should not enter india till the time I submit my ITA.
Answered above - Take PCC from Saudi (even Indian PCC)

B) will I require a PCC from Indian Embassy in Saudi Arabia for my stay as an Indian in Saudi?
I think Indian passport office (BLS) can issue PCC, otherwise Indian embassy

C) I will be requiring a PCC from Saudi Government and I will have to follow the IRCC guidelines or approach them upfront.
Either is fine.

I'm confused about the INDIAN PCC.
Can someone please provide me clarity on this matter!

To clarify - If you are indian living in India - You can travel anywhere - PCC is valid.
If you are indian living in saudi... then
Take PCC from passport office (or embassy) in saudi. Make sure you do not travel to India till you upload all documents on CIC profile and get AOR, as PCC will be invalid once you goto India.
Remember - After AOR, your profile freezes and none of the documents expire. Except Medicals - that are valid only for 1 year regardless

Regards,
most points quoted above are correct, except 1-2 corrections...

Thank you so much for such a detailed reply.

So here is what I understand and please correct me if I'm wrong

This is pertaining to PCC for a person having working / residence status of Saudi Arabia and at the same time being a citizen of India.

Will this person have to physically come to India to obtain Indian PCC or can this person apply for Indian PCC from Indian Embassy in Saudi.

Situation - 1
Suppose if this person is in India for in the next 5 days - i.e. will be leaving for Saudi on Saturday ! What all should I try to do related to PCC?

Should I try to get the Indian PCC (try my
Best) within these 5 days!

Worst case scenario - I can ask this person to travel to Saudi Arabia and Apply for Indian PCC from Indian Embassy in Saudi and the person should not travel to india till the time I submit my ITA?

Since I have to provide 2 PCC's, one from country of residence and another from origin. Will this work ?

I really really hope I'm able to explain my situation! Hoping to get quick response as I can expedite necessary process !

Just apply for PCC (Indian and Saudi) from Saudi itself - You will be fine.

Remember for Indian PCC from passport office - They will take your physical passport also - So you cant travel anyway until they issue PCC.

Thank you for your once again.. So my understanding is as below

Just apply for PCC (Indian and Saudi) from Saudi itself - You will be fine.
Your suggesting that for Indian PCC, I should apply from Saudi Arabia (From Indian Embassy in KSA).
In this case I will not have to apply for PCC from India.

Will I have to be cautious that I don't travel to India once I obtain the Indian PCC (from Indian Embassy in KSA) - Till I submit my ITA.
OR
There is no issue, one can freely travel to India once Indian PCC is obtained.. Please advice.

Atlas, PCC from Indian Embassy in KSA shall suffice Indian PCC Requirement and I don't need to apply here in India?

For Saudi PCC, I will have to follow the process of either approaching upfront or wait for IRCC Letter after applying for ITA

Remember for Indian PCC from passport office - They will take your physical passport also - So you cant travel anyway until they issue PCC.
Ideally, is it advisable to route PCC via PSK ? or approaching police station could also be an alternative?

always 100% advisable to take PCC from PSK.. they have a very generic format acceptable by IRCC. i have seen PCC from police stations, they only take responsibility that xyz person has no criminal record in abc police stations, its not for entire country or all addresses you have lived in, and generally PCC in this format gets rejected.

regarding point # 2

yes - do not travel to india until you submit your documents and get AOR - after htat you are free to travel.

point # 3

no need to apply for anything from india - i didnt apply either and i have my PPR

point # 4
For Saudi PCC, I will have to follow the process of either approaching upfront or wait for IRCC Letter after applying for ITA
i was under impression that you have to approach upfront, but apparently both are acceptable.
personally i would approach upfront and try and get PCC early - just to ensure application is not delayed from my end... but thats my choice - you are free to do whatever you feel like - like i said, either way is fine.

yes - do not travel to india until you submit your documents and get AOR - after htat you are free to travel.

For example :
You are staying in Saudi, but travelling to India only for few weeks then the Indian PCC is fine. If you go to India and stay in India for 6 or more months in a row then it isn't valid.

Kindly correct me if I am wrong.

Thanks
