Can I take General module IELTS for study visa

Hi All,

I am taking IELTS for study visa. Can I take General module ? I will be applying student visa under General
category.

In CIC website no were its mentioned IELTS should be academic or general. In the check list it says "Test results taken within the last 24 months to demonstrate ability in language of proposed study"

Note : I have already got offer letter from college
