Can I switch refugee work permit to OWP after AIP &SA? Just to gain status

Hi honorable members,

I am a March Applicant . I got SA,AIP,and additional documents request . So I'm still waiting for their response.

Now I have a refugee work permit which is still valid till December.

Since I have AIP can I still apply for OWP,even though I have refugee work permit?

Just wondering if that will give me some sort of status order than refugee , just so CBSA dont come knocking on my door.

Any experience? Thanks in advance .

If you have a work permit that is valid until December and you have received SA and AIP, you probably will not need to apply for anything else. Once they review your additional documents you'll probably be landing soon after. CBSA shouldn't come knocking on your door since you are in status right now with your current work permit.

I am out of status, as my refugee work permit does not confer temporary residence.
I am also in a fix as I am unable to get a new passport they are requesting for as my expired passport is with CBSA.
My embassy will not give me another one.

I thought you needed to have a valid passport to get an OWP through spousal sponsorship. But maybe I'm wrong...

OH I was not aware. I don't have a passport , I cant even renew.
after AIP , I still cannot get my passport from my embassy.
I only have 10 days left to respond to CIC
