Can I submit both applications - Transit Visa and Tourist Visa?

Hi, I have applied for tourist visa 2 days back. I'm planning to travel to India on Jun 8 and flight has a transit from Canada. Can I apply for Transit Visa also? My Tourist Visa application is in process. I'm not sure how long does it take to get the tourist visa and transit visa.

Transit and tourist visas are effectively the same thing. If you want a transit visa, you apply for a TRV.
