I'm here on a one year work permit, under the International Experience (Youth Mobility) program. I'm applying for Permanent Residency while here, since my husband is Canadian. My intention was to work in my field - Medical Laboratory Technologist, but it turns out I need one course to complete my Swedish education before I can get the Canadian certificate.
This is an online course, 39 credits, to be finished at your own pace within one year. I can't find any definitive information on if I'm allowed to do this or not, when I have a Work Permit. It says on the permit that I can't study, unless authorized, but at the same time no Study Permit is needed if the course is shorter than 6 months (and I'll definitely finish this course within that time). Does anybody know where to find this information?
Ironic if I need to study to be able to work, but I can't study because I have a work permit...
