can i still use my temporary resident visa?

Hi,

heres my situation. i am a chinese student with a study permit. it was required for me to also apply for a temporary resident visa in order to enter canada. i had graduated this year and obtained a work permit. however, i had decided to pursue my education in UK and had therefore left canada. i am planning on visiting canada this xmas to see my friends. my question is, from what i had seen from other posts, having a work permit automatically cancel out my study visa, and since i had gotten my temporary resident visa along with my student permit, is that temporary resident visa still in effect? do i need to apply for a visitor visa in order to enter canada? thanks for the help!

This is very good question. This is a unique situation and you may only get responses from people who "think" they know the answer. I strongly advice you to call the CIC service center and ask them this question(1-888-242‑2100). However, you cannot make that call from outside of Canada, so ask one of your friends in Canada to call the CIC service center and ask this question for you. Good luck.
