can I still get a visitors visa?

I was denied a study permit twice because my mom is a canadian citizen. It really hurts because all I wanted to do was study while living with my mom! Honestly, I miss my mom,its been 13 years since iv seen her and I really miss her. I live with my dad now and I'm only 20. My question Is it possible to get a visitors visa just to visit my mom??

You can certainly try to apply for a visitor visa - but it may be quite difficult for you to be approved. To be approved, you will have to demonstrate that you have strong ties to your home country and have no plans on remaining in Canada long term. Unfortunately the fact that your mother is a Canadian citizen and the fact that you have twice attempted to apply for a study permit will work against you.

Thanx for replying dear. Ok so then how do I establish strong home ties?? I'm now enrolled in a University in South Africa and I'm supposed to start next semester (May). Does this count as home ties? I'm South African by the way

This certainly helps. You should include a letter from the university confirming that you are enrolled and will be starting classes in May. If possible, you should also pay your tuition fees now and include this proof in your application as well. The letter from the university confirming you will be attending in May might not be seen as a proof of ties (since it would be easy for you just not to attend). However if you have paid your fees already, this should help.

Any property owned in your name, rental agreements (e.g. if you rent an apartment), any assets/bank accounts, proof of employment.

you said your mother is a Canadian citizen right? So based on that information (assuming you were born after 1947), I think you can become a canadian citizen per the change in citizenship law in april 2009.

It is unlikely that the OP's mother was a citizen at the time of his/her birth. So no claim to citizenship.

Well actually she became a canadian citizen when I was about 7 years old so I'm definitely not a one
