I just have a few questions regarding my status here in Canada. I am 20 years old working student PRC holder male and been living here in Canada for 1 year and 6 months. Basically my uncle and his spouse decided to adopt me 10 years ago. His wife decided sponsor me here in Canada, I am thankful I am here and since we didn't have the time to catch up because they left me back in our country when I was 11 years old. What I meant is we need more time to know each other and adjust to one another.
So technically we have some misunderstandings and miscommunications here with them.

My first question is what if they remove the surname they have given when they adopted me am I going to be deported?

Second, what about the 3 year sponsorship if they remove or void that am I going to be deported?

Last question, if they decided to remove the sponsorship on me can i apply for mine? Can i actually request to stay here in Canada since I am already here and I am a good citizen without criminal record.

Thanks for having time to read this I'm looking forward for someone to help me answer these questions because they too are hurrying me up to get my own ticket and get back to my mother-land but I really want to stay.

If I understand correctly, you have PR?

Does your PR card have any conditions listed? If not, you are entitled to stay here in your own right and will not be deported.

If you were sponsored for PR as a dependent child, your adoptive parents can not cancel the 3 year undertaking (to CIC). Any name changes will not effect your PR either.

I hope this helps, if I have misunderstood, let me know.

As far as I know, once they have adopted you, they can not cancel the adoption. It would be like if you were their own child. They can not force you to change your name either.

As you are no longer a minor, they can not make you go back to your home country. They can however refuse you to live in their house just like a parent of a biological 20 year old could do if they do not get along with their child.

Their undertaking, sponsoring a dependent child is actually more than 3 years, it's 10 years or until you turn 25 whichever happens sooner so in your case until you turn 25. If you take social assistance before then, it would be upon them to pay it back.

Your PR is not dependent on your sponsors either. You are a PR in your own right and they can not take that away from you. Once you sponsor someone, you can not take it back if they already became PR. The only exception is for sponsored spouses who may have a condition on their PR stating that they lose it if they leave the marriage within 2 years of becoming PR. This is however not relevant to you because you are a sponsored child, not a spouse.
