Sorry for the long post but the questions I have required some good amount of information to be shared.
I was using the CRS tool (cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/skilled/crs-tool.asp) to calculate my score and have few questions:

A) In the CRS tool when asked

1) What is your marital status?
Married
i. Is your spouse/common-law partner a Canadian citizen or a permanent resident of Canada?
No
ii. Is your spouse/common-law partner coming with you?
No

I have selected No as my partner/spouse will not apply for PR with me. Is it okay to do the same? is there any other implications for the same in future? The reason for selecting not including spouse in the application is, her education and IELSTS are making my points very low. I thought once I'll have the PR, I can either sponsor her or bring her on dependent visitor visa and apply her PR. Pls suggest if it is feasible.

Note: I have a 6 Month old son too but he was born here in Canada and he's Canadian citizen. I am currently in Canada with my spouse and baby :).

B) I have done Diploma and Engineering (3 years both) from India so what should I select from the education dropdown. Am I eligible to select "Two or more certificates, Diploma or Degrees. One must be for a program of three or more years" OR I'll have to select "Bachelor's Degree (Three or more year program at a university or college or technical institute)" since Degree is the highest education. I am confused. Please help choosing the correct category as when I am selecting the first option, I am getting the good points but not sure whether it'll be counted as two degree or not.

It is fine for your spouse not to be included in the application, but remember if you receive an ITA, your profile is locked and it is only you (not your spouse) that will receive PR if you get an ITA and file a successful PR application. Also, depending on the status you and your spouse are currently on (if you are on a working status) your spouse may not be able to work. If you get an ITA, and have working status, you may be able to apply for a BOWP to get indefinite working status until your get your PR.

Congratulations on the birth of your son. :)

No, don't select anything yet. As you are from India and your education is Indian, you need an ECA first. Register with WES or one of the other places to get your qualifications evaluated (if you have not done so already). Then you may be able to select one or more options (depending upon your ECA results). If I were you I would do this soon. From what I have read from other forum members it seems like it is hard to get Indian education Universities and colleges to send transcripts to the assessing Institution.

If you need any other help let me know.

I am guessing you did your Diploma after 10th Standard for 3 years and then engineering for another 3 years.

if this is the case you do not qualify for 2 or more certificates. You need to have completed your 12th grade (secondary schooling as per Canada) and then have 2 or more degrees or certificates.

Yes, I did the 12th grade first and then 3 years of Diploma and 3 years of Engineering. In this case i believe it should be included. I am currently in the process of having my education certificates evaluated by WES (Yes i am submitting Diploma and Degree transcripts and certificates, however both are from different universities, I am trying to get the sealed envelope from both the university and later I'll put both the Envelope in one big envelope and post to WES in Ontario for evaluation). Please suggest if I am missing any point or steps in this regard. Thanks

Hello JoacRy:
Thanks for the useful information. My spouse is not working and on dependent visa currently. If i get the PR, will I be able to sponsor her as family OR if I can even get the dependent visa for her initially so that she can be with me in Canada. I can wait for some time before i apply for her PR. Is it possible??

IMO, It won't be included if your diploma was a "lateral entry" (as it is called in India) to your engineering degree. Was your diploma an entry to 2nd year of your engineering degree? (Of course, there is no harm in checking with WES. )
Right, do not open up the sealed envelopes - like you are saying, just put these two sealed envelopes in a larger one and send it across to WES Canada

I am not sure about this, but I have read a few accounts on this forum which suggest getting a PR later for your spouse separately is a tedious process. Others might be able to shed more light on this. My advice would be to include her in your application

As advised by shashidhar_sm, it is better if you include your spouse in the application. Getting a spousal sponsorship is a tedious and long process from what I hear. If you add her, you both get PR simultaneously - Less headache!
