Can I reapply on line for my WP renewal after I got rejected?

I applied on line for my extension of my work permit under live-in caregiver program, but I just got rejected since I didn't submit a new contract according to the letter. I did everything they asked on line, and provided the document according to the checklist on line which is passportpage only, they never did ask for a contract on the upload document checklist.

Anyways, now I have to reapply for it (the officer informed it in the letter), the question is, can I still do it on line? or do I have to do it on paper? Any one knows about it? CIC call center is so hard to get through to an agent. And I don't have much time to call during workdays.

Thank you very much for your help!

yeah, I thought about it too, but the processing time is much longer for paper application, almost 3 months, it is only 50 days for e-application. And I plan to apply for my PR on Feb. I don't want any thing to delay it which applying in mail would certainly do.

Anyways, thanks for ur advise and I probably will do so. I will call CIC to find out all the questions about it.

The answer is I can do it on line, but I will do it by mail. Even the processing time is longer. The call center agent from e-application told me I must have chosen the wrong type of work permit such as open WP so that there was no contract asked to be provided. I tried that again just now, when u chose the live-in caregiver as ur status, there is no open WP for you to choose to apply, and the checklist of course came out with no contract, still passport page only. I know for sure the e-application has bug in their design, imcompleted checklist.

If I were you, try to scan all your supporting documents and save it as one file name using Acrobat Reader. But be sure not to exceed their maximum size which is 2MB. I did phoned Online Services application agent and they said you can include all the documents pertaining to your application. In my case, I did include my Marriage Certificate, new contract, employment letter from my employer,TRV page,WP page,Passport Page & Entry Page) but no new LMO  Hope they will approve without the new LMO. Please pray for me too.

Good luck to you xtalj, hope everything wil be ok.

(I got these from FAQ online Services MyCIC page)
Citizenship and Immigration Canada is only able to access information that is saved using a format supported by Microsoft Word.

Maximum File Size
The maximum size of each file is 2 MB (two megabytes).

Only one file will be allowed per document type. For example, if you are required to provide 5 (five) pages of your passport, you must scan and save all 5 (five) pages as one file.

Thanks, Honeysweetie. I am preparing all the document and will go for paper application this time. I know the processing time is longer, probably for three months, by the time I will receive the result in Feb, I probably have already sent my application for PR. The call center agent said I can do so, even without the new work permit, if I am waiting for the result. Just include my application for a WP in it, which means I am in implied status. I think even later on I will receive the result of WP, nomatter what it is, since I have already applied for pR, it should be okay for me to stay and wait for my process. Just a theory.Anyways, if I include my contract in the application, I should be fine, and get my WP, says the agent.

By the way, No need for a new LMO if u r under LCP, working for the same employer, it's confirmed by the agent. God Bless us all!

thanks xtalj. Yes I'm working under LCP same employer. Btw we have almost the same timeline then. I will send my PR & OWP application on last week of March or 1st week of April 2011. Since I got a 1-month vacation last April for my wedding in the Phils. so I have to pay for 1 month being away from Canada. Anyway, wish you good luck too. Hope everything will be okay. I will keep you posted. God bless :)

Honeysweetie, it seems like we really have the same timeline. I also spent 1 month visiting my husband last year, I will probably apply for PR and OWP next Feb, a little earlier than u.

I've been a little busy lately, so I didn't check out this website. I am working on the new contract. But there are some questions about the contract. The old one we used was quite simple, and now they have a new contract template which is 7 pages intotal. Do you think we have to use this new contract for WP application? some of the blank we (employer and I)don't know how to fill in, such as :_____min the paid or unpaid meal break; and the work schedule from _______to ______. live-in job is very flexible. the work hour could last for 10~ 12 hrs, but there is also breaks in between, how can we specific the work schedule like office hours?

I guess I am just worried too much about the reapplication, because I can't afford to fail again, certainly don't want 22 mom's hard working ruined by a small mistake in the contract.

God bless us all.

Usually, 30 minute paid meal break, or 1 hour unpaid meal break. Your time could be 8-12 AM then 2-6 PM. Does not really matter. It's just that Service Canada wants to safeguard your rights, like you should be working only 8 hours per day because that is what your employer is paying you.

Thank you so much, Job_seeker! Your reply really helps me a lot!

I still have two more questions about the contract, Could you please help me with them as well?

1. the employee is entitled to ____ number of paid _____or unpaid ___health breaks of _____minutes.
Is there a regulation about the health breaks? I usually take a little break after one task and before another, depends on how long it takes me, and how fast I am doing it. Have no idea what shall I entitled to.

2.Notice of resignation and Notice of termination of employment.
Is 4 weeks notice enough?

This forum is a great place, a place people could help each other out, a place to make u realise you are not alone. Strangers' help really means a lot when one need it so much. God Bless Us All!

1. put as needed but unpaid, or two 15 minute breaks, paid.
2. 2 weeks is enough, but if you and your employer agrees on the 4 weeks then that should be fine.
