Can I pay to process faster?

Hello,

We've applied for the Visitor Visa (submitted all documents and biometrics) but there is a chance that we won't get the visa on time for our planned travel.

Do you guys know if there is anything we can do to speed this up? Is there anyone we can call? I already sent a message from the application page using the web form and the application number etc outlining the situation but heard nothing back. I would be willing to pay a small fortune to have the application processed quicker.

There must be something we can do. A person that can help. We are really desperate

I would be grateful for any info.

No - you can't pay to expedite. Unfortunately the only option is to wait.

Understand that there's also never a guarantee of approval. We don't recommend booking travel until the visa has been approved.

Yes @scylla , I agree completely, but in real life when you are trying to book a journey with several flights / cruise / hotels including last minute deals to meet tight budget - it's not always possible. Especially if one has already a US visa plus countless others, one would expect that Canada visa wouldn't be the most inconvenient or lengthy to obtain. Particularly if they say "Processing time 6 days" which is a massive understatement. Never been so wrong in my life. First time this happened to me and I'm a seasoned traveler. By far the most complex and long visitor visa application process I've witnessed (being a resident of a country with no VAC doesn't help).

Yes - they should really post disclaimers around the processing times. It pretty much never applies if you're a foreign national living in that country - almost always quite a bit longer in that case.

Hope your trip works out. I travel very extensively as well - just never last minute (sadly work doesn't allow that). Have always thought it would be neat to do a last minute trip somewhere...

Alternatively, you can try the reverse, to negotiate with the airline to change your booking without fees, given the longer-than-normal wait for visa processing.
