Hi all,

My partner's Uncle is a PR in Canada. The profile asked for all relatives in Canada and I entered that too. We haven't been invited to apply yet but I submitted our profile. I'm the principal applicant. We're FSW.
That person is an absolute jerk and if we get invited with a requirement to proof our relation to him it would be really hard to get him to send us any document.
Is there anyway I can make sure we're not using any points from that uncle? Or can we just not mention that we have this relative?
As far as I know we shouldn't need any help from him to be eligible. How can I be sure about that?
If we remove that uncle would it raise suspicion in background checks?

If you have not received your ITA, you can make changes to your profile.
Moreover, having an uncle will not give you any additional points when calculating your CRS score. (Points are awarded only for siblings) So, having the name does not have any effect.
However, I would suggest that you remove the name just to be sure that IRCC does not ask for any of his documents at a later stage.

It can affect eligibility

Remember to still mention him in loe
Oh, really?
I mean he doesn't even have the same last name as my partners since he from her mother's side.
So you say I write in the loe that we have this relative but we didn't mentioned anywhere since we didn't want to get any fsw points from him ?

so one question, maximum points one can get from Adaptability is 10 right?
I've studied in Canada for two years, we get 5 for that, my partner have also studied for two years so far but she hasn't graduated yet, does she get 5 points for adaptability too, here was the cic website says:

Your spouse or partner’s past study in Canada
Your spouse or common-law partner finished at least two academic years of full-time study (in a program at least two years long) at a secondary or post-secondary school in Canada.

So she has finished 2 years of study! but hey study hasn't finished yet!!
