i need 2 know if I can manage $2200 for 6 months. I've paid 4 one month homestay placement

Very Difficult to stay with this much amount .... If you broke down your expense then minimum will be like dis ..

1. Rent -> $250 (Sharing Basis)
2. Cell phone --> $30
3. Transport --> $100
4. Health card --> $40
5. Grocery --> $100(Sharing basis)
6. Misc --> $100( It is very less as $3 per day = Coffee cup)

Total --> $620 which is minimum amount and it could be high depending on your living style but can't be less than that.

I guess you would have to cut down expenses if you have really that amount of money. I guess homestay includes bills and food. you can decide if you need a bus pass or you can just walk if its not too far. misc can be reduced if you down your living standard.

good post ....and i agree u cant manage 6 months in $2200.....initial expenses are a lot they may be one time expenses but they add up....eg pillows, bed (may be provided by homestay but never know) , books and supplies ,If u have a laptop then internet connection....etc

my 1st month will be taken care by homestay. I' m only talking about d
last 5 months. I'm considering if I don't work. my room is furnished
with internet. Feeding is part of what I paid. I don't know about transportation anyway.

not getting ur question 1st month in homestay what about later months?if homestay then u will have furnished room and everything but if u dont go for homestay then u still will have to find furniture ,pay for internet etc...if ur going for home stay then is 2200 enough for u ? well that would depend on ur homestay rent.....if 2200 is excluding home stay rent then yes u can manage but if including then not possible......i think u need atleast $4000 for 5 months......
