Can I leave Canada while my Permanent Residence Application is ongoing?

I've applied for PR in BC, under the Provincial Nominee Program. I work and live in BC already. All the forms are in, the file's been transferred to Seattle, and I've had the medical.

Somebody told me I can't travel to the US or outside Canada until the PR is granted, because this would annul my application. Does anyone know if this is true?

I haven't heard that. I don't think it would be advisable to go away too long in case they try to contact you but ask the BC PNP.

As long as your visa is still valid you may leave and reenter for short trips,but having your PNP in process does not gurantee reentry into Canada
