Can I have two applications for different programs at the same time?

Hello, could you please help me with this question:

Context: Las year, my husband applies in the PGWP, therefore I applied for an open work visa alongside him. Once, his application was rejected, my was reject as well. But we sent a letter with support documentation and the application had a status as "still in review".

Now, the company that I work for, wants me to travel to Canada to work, for two weeks. But the Company in Canada, will manage the whole process.

My questions are:
1- Can I have two applications open?
2- Can this second application be rejected because the status of the prior one?

1. Yes. You will need a LMIA exempt permit and closed work permit to work in Canada.
2. It can be rejected if it does not meet requirements for LMIA exemption.
