Hello,
I am a visitor to Canada,
I cam to Canada initially with a multiple entry visa, but now it is expired,
I extended my visitor status and got a new visitor record document, but I didn't get a visa stamp on my passport,
can I go to US as a visitor then return back to Canada again with this document? or I have to get a visa stamp on my passport ?
if MUST, how can I get such stamp ?
thanks in advance,

As long as you only go to the US or St. Pierre et Miquelon, you can return to Canada before the expiry date of your visitor permit.

one extra question, PMM, please,
I am going to Los Angeles to give my biometrics at LA VAC, as I sent my study permit application to them by mail,
after I got my study permit, I intended to apply online for open work permit for my wife (she is already with me in Canada as visitor also) ...
the most important question is:
will she asked to give her biometrics also ? or as she is a spouse of a study permit holder (me) can apply from inside Canada and hence exempted from giving biometrics although our home citizenship country requires biometrics ?
thanks

1. She is exempt. The following is from CIC

f you are from one of the countries or territory above, you do not need to give your biometrics to visit Canada if you are:

under 14 years old or 80 years old and over (if you are close to your 80th birthday, read important information about where you can give your biometrics),
a diplomat, consular officer, representative, or official of:
a country,
the United Nations or any of its agencies,
any intergovernmental organization that Canada is a member of,

and you are travelling to Canada on official business (any family members travelling with you are also exempt),
applying for a visa to transit through Canada for less than 48 hours, directly to or from the United States and you hold a valid United States entry visa, or
already in Canada and are eligible to apply for a visitor (temporary resident) visa, study permit or work permit to an office in Canada.
