Hi Guys,

I applied under Inland Spousal Sponsorship category. My medical exam has been submitted. I am going to visit my back home this month. Most probably, i will be asked for Biometrics same time. I want to know, if i can submit my biometrics in India and is it acceptable by CIC?

Thank You!

If you applied before dec biometric rule, you will not be asked for biometric. But remember you are taking a chance at being denied reentry back to Canada. If you are confidence that you can get back in, you can leave canada.

Actually this may not be the case. I couldn't find anything anywhere on the IRCC website stating that those who applied prior to Dec. 3 are still exempt, just informing those yet to apply that as of Dec 3 inland applicants have to give biometrics. If you've got different information or something I missed, I would love to see it so I can have the most accurate information too. As long as your application is still processing, there is still a chance you could be asked to give biometrics.

Screech is right, you're always risking being denied reentry to Canada (even if you have a valid work/study permit, visitor record, or a multiple-entry visa) or your application being denied because you were outside of Canada for too long, so just keep that in mind.

Hopefully all goes smoothly for you!

There is a possibility that IRCC may ask for biometric later during processing but that is up to ircc to decide. In the OP's case, the OP should not do a biometric unless IRCC asked for it. Currently if you applied after Dec, IRCC will ask for biometric fees upfront with all applicable fees and will send a letter to go to nearest office for biometric.OP wants to do a biometric without IRCC's letter stating the requirement of biometrics. That is like getting a fingerprint request done without letter from IRCC for it. OP may be wasting time and money to do a biometric that IRCC hadn't asked for yet.
