Can I get rejected because I chose NOC 2172 instead of 2171?

Hey all,

So I created my EE profile today with a score of 453. My job overlaps a lot of 2171 and 2172 but is closer to 2171. Since I am aiming for an Ontario PNP and 2172 is a preferred NOC for them, I chose 2172 but I am having second doubts now. How risky is this? If I change my NOC to 2171, is there a high possibility of not getting an NOI/ITA for PNP? I am a Salesforce Administrator.

You need to choose the NOC that matches your job description and the letter you'll get from your employer. If your letter backs up your choice by showing that you performed a majority of the duties listed in the NOC, it will be accepted. Otherwise, it will be rejected.

Thank you so much. One more question, if with my CRS 453 and 2171 NOC .. am I not eligible for OINP at all? I do know the Tech Draw has targeted NOCs( which is why I was pushing for 2172).

As long the job description on your reference letter matches the NOC job description mentioned on the website, you are fine!
